Just because it's winter doesn't mean we have to forgo wearing our favorite skirt or little lace number. It might seem a little counter-intuitive when we are more concerned about keeping warm than staying chic. But I'm here to tell you that lace and skirts can totally be cold-weather-appropriate with the help of layers. And lots of it.

Not just any layers...You have to have a long wool cardigan to layer under the jacket. I call it the 'middle layer'. This wool blend cardigan is my go-to piece this winter to keep me warm AND chic. The outer layer can be a parka, fur coat, or wool coat. In my case, I have a combination of wool and fur, same coat I wore here.

Can't forget about them stems! As I mentioned in my the blog post here, Hanes firming tights are a must-have in the winter. It's an accessory that offers function and style. So move over pants, skirts are here to stay all year long!

Holiday Survival Kit with Hanes

Bedroom... what does that word mean to you? For me... it's a warm bed that I can’t wait to get into after a long day of work, it's the sensation of peace on a rainy Sunday in my boyfriends warm arms, and where I can be naked, both emotionally and physically. My bedroom is a sanctuary. It's important to me to make my slumber dreamy..so I can always have sweet dreams and wake up on the RIGHT side of the bed..

I love cozying up with 'The New Bohemians: Cool and Collected Homes' book and glass of Liberated Wine Sauvignon Blanc. Liberated Wine has many gorgeous labels and even better tasting wine. The tasting notes of this are: Kiwi, Passion Fruit, Lime, and Grapefruit. I love pairing it with fresh light seafood and cheeses. (Decorating hack: save the bottle and use it as a bracelet holder!)

A printed bedspread, like this distinctive geometric quilt, does a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to décor. It adds a rustic charm to our bedroom décor and it is reversible if I want to switch up the look. I love piling on the right amount of throw pillows. It should be enough pillows so that your bed looks sumptuous and inviting when properly made...yet not enough that getting in bed requires 10 minutes of excavating. The sweet spot is usually between 1-6, depending on the size of your bed. I have a king size but I cut it down to 3 sleeping pillows and 2-3 decorative ones. Love my little corner.. a good spot to sit down to do some reading when I don't want to fall asleep. It's also great for doing my nails or little projects at night..

Chichi pillows and chichi pouf by one of my favorite - Folk Project! I worked with Merijam when I first started my blog.. she gave me a beautiful clutch which I posted here. Folk Project's mission is to travel the world looking for unique textiles and turn them into bespoke decorative pieces, such as furniture, handbags and accessories. The pictures never do enough justice for her items... My next wishlist is a beautiful chair from her.
