I'd be willing to bet that when you hear Valentine's Day you think of chocolate and flowers. For me, I like to look for more artistic and intimate ways to express my love for my man. The idea of pricey prix-fixe menus at crowded restaurants does not sound romantic or original. So this year we are leaving that behind, and celebrating our love at home -- in a truly relaxing fashion.

The best way to ignite the mood is with simple yet effective gestures so I prepared our bedroom for a romantic and intimate evening. I had been browsing my bums off looking for the perfect accent chairs. When I came across these gorgeous Article blush pink chairs, I knew I had to have it. I received them as a gift which are actually perfect for Valentine's mood. Our evening will include home cooked meal (mussels and scallops), lots of candles, and watching romantic movies in our comfortable blush pink accent chairs with a bottle of champagne!

Btw, Article is having  a Valentine's Sale that includes these blush pink accent chairs and other blush pink pieces! The sale ends Feb 14th so hurry!

I have a love/hate relationship with my Instagram. It is an amazing platform that has given me an opportunity to promote my blog and make a living while doing so. But because of this, I have to spend hours on outreach. I check it soon as I wake up in the morning, then countless times throughout the day, and before bed.

There comes a point every now and then where I’ve just about sapped all the creativity and efficiency I’ve got. My mind—and oftentimes, my mood—makes it quite clear. But it seems a bit taboo to discuss this cause, after all, I am a social media influencer. Don’t get me wrong, I love what I do but being constantly connected can have an inevitable side effect of always thinking of work and not living in the moment.

That is why I decided to take time off my social media while abroad. I wanted fully enjoy my vacation through my eyes (not my iphone) in Thailand and time with family in Malaysia. I gave myself 5-10 minutes to take a few videos and photos for keepsake. But I avoided posting vacation pictures until I got home which also helped me avoid another big social media mistake: over-posting. Waiting lets me think about the top experiences and gives me an opportunity to share things that were meaningful.

Learning to unplug is becoming a lost art in our ever-connected world. But it is so necessary to live our lives fuller because of it.

How do you guys feel about taking a break and how often do you do it?
