One of my favorite parts about blogging is connecting with emerging creators and hearing their stories. The story behind Shield & Honor holds a little dearer to me because I have veterans in my family. It was born when she made her first pendant out of an empty casing from the 21 Gun Salute at her grandfather's memorial.  Shield & Honor also donates a portion of all proceeds to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund to continue to support the same community that inspired their creation.

Now I first 'met' my girl, Courtney at Coco + Pine on Instagram. Even though we haven't officially met, I really feel we have the same creative mind and would be friends if she wasn't all the way across the country. She makes tees that everyone can relate too.  I love how three simple words, "Coffee Whiskey & You" can make a person smile. I am wearing a large to style it off the shoulder. You can use "GYPSYTAN" to get 15% off (expires 2.29.15).

Then there's amazingly talented Kristen at Fade Into The Abstract who gets her inspiration from seasons, geometries, nature, people, and such. I love her how she mixes raw materials with soft gemstones. I am a big fan of the geometric. I am wearing  Half Sun Turquoise  necklace and cobra wrap rings in the picture.

WHAT I WORE

If this is your first time reading my blog post, I mean really reading- you would know that I take most of my own photos and my boyfriend takes the ones of my full outfits. Gosh I can't stress how much I love him but he just doesn't have the eye. Oh the struggle of a fashion blogger. So I decided to capitalize on the tripod and do my first selfie outfit shoot. My 'studio' is our backyard with Columbia River as my backdrop. I hope the neighbors weren't watching or they probably think I am either crazy or really vein. I might be a little crazy...

Crazy about these sunnies from Chili Beans. I am wearing the Chain Reaction round sunglasses with hand-pressed green acetate glass, gold metal frames with chains attached. I seriously feel so cool or sound I say #SOCHILI.

When in doubt wear a white tee and jeans. These look like One Teaspoon with the price tag of Forever 21. Winning! I also picked up my second tee from Free People's 'We The Free' line. I wouldn't usually spend $58 on a tee but there is no other white tee better than this one. Oversized fit, soft, burnout with v-neck and rolled-up sleevesit's a staple for sure.

WHAT I WORE

Windsor lace kimono | Gunny Sack & Co moto leggings | TOMS dark grey wedge | metallic tattoos GLO TATTS | rust fedora hat | Dream Warrior necklace

Last weekend my little sister, Gisella and I had ventured out around Seattle where she helped me take these photos. *Love you Gisella, my little angel who is caring, beautiful, and wise beyond her age. We also may or may have not stopped in Pike Place Market to pick up some Hom Boa. When wearing all black, it's important to add a little texture. I wore my black lace kimono with the most comfortable moto leggings with suede & faux-leather panels. I tied it all together with a  Love + Leather necklace, burnt orange fedora, TOMS wedges (which btw, I could run a mile in). Got me feeling all sorts of gypsy...
