One of my favorite parts about blogging is connecting with emerging creators and hearing their stories. The story behind Shield & Honor holds a little dearer to me because I have veterans in my family. It was born when she made her first pendant out of an empty casing from the 21 Gun Salute at her grandfather's memorial. Shield & Honor also donates a portion of all proceeds to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund to continue to support the same community that inspired their creation.

Now I first 'met' my girl, Courtney at Coco + Pine on Instagram. Even though we haven't officially met, I really feel we have the same creative mind and would be friends if she wasn't all the way across the country. She makes tees that everyone can relate too. Then there's amazingly talented Kristen at Fade Into The Abstract who gets her inspiration from seasons, geometries, nature, people, and such. I love her how she mixes raw materials with soft gemstones. I am a big fan of the geometric. I am wearing Half Sun Turquoise necklace and cobra wrap rings in the picture.
